Lonely Planet, a top travel publisher, just released a video on their YouTube Channel about the top destination of 2017. Before watching the video I expected the number one spot to be a city or country that I hadn't heard of or something far off the radar. I figured it was some new hotspot celebrities were starting to visit that was increasing in popularity. Once the clip started I was surprised to discover the best country to visit this upcoming year is Canada. Being the second largest country in the world, Canada has many great qualities that keep it ranked in the number one slot. In 2017, the country is celebrating its 150th birthday. In celebration, all national parks are going to be free for visitors during the year. There are close to 50 national parks in Canada according to Parks Canada.
