NEW YORK - Bloggers at WanderersOnly are aware that the holidays in New York City can be very touristy. They would like feedback and suggestions to create a noteworthy New York experience during the holidays. WanderersOnly is holding a contest where you have the opportunity to be featured on their website by sending in a photo of your non-tourist experience in NYC during the holiday season.
In a recent blog post New York native Erin Feltkamp composed a guide with a twist for spending this holiday season in New York City. While typical tourist attractions such as the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree are mentioned, Feltkamp provides a distinct perspective on how to experience these hotspots differently from the traditional way.
The holidays cause more tourists to visit some of the world’s most popular cities. Feltkamp gives readers a list of suggested activities that may appear unfamiliar if you’re not a New Yorker. Adding these recommendations to your itinerary will allow you to experience the city like a true native. Emily Fudim who lives on Long Island, New York talks about the holiday season in NYC.
“While any first-timer may want to see the popular city hotspots, the large crowds will take away from your experience. If you can come up with new ways to witness these sites in a non-touristy way then you will have a true New York adventure”.
